Since Bush has called the Constitution just a piece of paper, and...?

since he has trashed it with signing statements to ignore laws, conducted illegal wiring tapping, etc. should the military, which has vowed to uphold the Constitutions against all enemies foreign and domestic, turn their attention to the greatest current domestic threat to it....GWB? Who's out there protecting the Consitution? Ron Paul? Congress?

Since Bush has called the Constitution just a piece of paper, and...?
Correction... He called it a "God-damned piece of paper".
Reply:wrong.

Clinton Allowed No Warrant Spying. Why Don't Liberals Have A Constitutional Problem With It? "Where was the outrage over Clinton's executive order that actually called for warrantless searches of people and possessions"

In March 2006 a hearing was held that was called "Wartime Executive Powers and the FISA Court"

The most famous FISA Judge Allan Kornblum (also a constitutional expert) said: " The Supreme Court said that the Fourth Amendment was highly flexible, and that the standard for criminal, what they call ordinary crimes, what I would call traditional law enforcement, need not be the same as that for foreign intelligence collection, and that different standards for different Government purposes are compatible with the Fourth Amendment."

"As you know, in Article I, section 8, Congress has enumerated powers as well as the power to legislate all enactments necessary and proper to their specific authorities, and I believe that is what the President has, similar authority to take executive action necessary and proper to carry out his enumerated responsibilities of which today we are only talking about surveillance of Americans."
Reply:I have yet to see any documented evidence that he did indeed say such a thing.
Reply:Haven't we heard this nonsense from you before? Are you just a Ron Paul robot or the less sinister Democrat Drone?
Reply:If he hadn't done any of those things you would be looking at a whole different kind of constitution that would involve you bowing down six times a day to a violent god.

Reply:Bush and Chaney think they are going to get away with what they did. They are living in denial. After Hillery wins (and Karl Rove already conceded her win on his last day when he went on Rush's show and had a melt down) there will be so many Bush insiders standing in line to trade testimony in exchange for immunity from prosecution they will have to take numbers and stand in line.

Oh yeah, and there won't be any republicans left to protect them from prosecution, Ask warren who is already cutting and running, or ask Rove...oh wait...he already cut and ran.......guess there's no one left to ask...
Reply:GWB isn't alone where trashing the Constitution is concerned, not by a long shot. Hardly anyone in Washington D.C. respects that document any more, except for perhaps the people who watch over it at the Archives building.

As for who should handle the trashing of the Constitution, that would be us: the American people. It's our responsibility to "keep the Republic," as Benjamin Franklin put it. Bush, Cheney and others could be removed from office, or else forced to resign, if the American people would get together and demand that such take place. Unfortunately, few Americans are interested in direct action.
