Will Bush Make War on Iran Before Leaving Office?

According to a recent article in the Guardian (a Brit paper), Washington sources have indicated that Bush is once more siding with Cheney and the neocons, who want that war.

If you do not think Bush will pull the trigger, let us know why. If you think he will, why and when.

I'd guess he will, as the neocons still have great power and Bush may figure his "legacy" can't be any worse. And sometime in December or January, before the first presidential caucuses and primaries. In the first months of a new war the populace usually vigorously supports the war party. Good news for McCain, perhaps.

Will Bush Make War on Iran Before Leaving Office?
He's probably already made the decision - or, it has been made for him. There is much speculation bouncing around to not take this seriously.

Further, I think he is going to try and stay in the white house, by declaring himself King, Czar, Dictator, or ? if this North American Union comes to pass... Sicko!
Reply:Iraq never was a danger for the Us. The real danger there is Iran! Let these Ayatollahs have nuclear weapons and we all must fear for our lives! These Islamists must be stopped at all costs before it is too late!

But will Bush do that stopping them? No, he will not. First, his time in power is already too short to start (and enjoy!) anything big like that. Second, he is still too busy in Iraq. He is not in a position to start an other war.

But in the case of Iran for the sake of the future of mankind he should! He should bomb these Ayatollahs to hell and back and bring Iran back to the status of Persia, a relyable member of the United Nations!
Reply:It's a possibility, why not start a war right before the next president takes office, and if it's a Dem president, give them Hell to deal with.

And to those people saying he can't start a war... we never declared war on North Korea...

And all you need to do to piss off another country to declare war is to send 1 stealth bomber... heck, even launch a cruise missile from one of the many ships in the Gulf. The US may not be declaring war, but Iran sure would if we attacked them.
Reply:Who says he's leaving?

He'll probably say "for the good of the nation" he cannot in good conscience vacate his position while the USA is in such a difficult predicament and claim "executive privilege" to suspend the 22nd Amendment.
Reply:No freakin' way!!! If he declares war on Iran before leaving office, who's gonna fight the war? He's barely got enough gun power over in Iraq, who's he gonna send to Iran? The gray brigade?
Reply:No, the Congress will not allow it. The president is commander of chief, but the congress is responsible for funding or any war. Without support of our congress there will be no war.
Reply:Actually Cheney is...Bush is just his puppet...

Guess that Haliburton and it's subsidiaries need more cash. Need to make it happen before they leave office.
Reply:Iran has to destroy their right to sovereignty first, like Iraq did.

Iraq tried:

to assassinate our President (the elder Bush)

to attack an ally (Kuwait)

to pay for attacks on an ally's civilians (Israel)

to repeatedly break the cease-fire for ten years with the U.S.

to lie and play games with the U.N. inspectors while bragging to friends that they had WMDs and were fooling everyone (we believed him).

Iran has not. It will not be attacked in return for attacks it has not made.

These seem to be minor things to some people, but to patriots, we kind of take these things seriously.
Reply:i dought he will start a war with Iran. if he has his way, we will stay in Iraq at least as long as he is in office. which would mean we wouldn't have enough troops for Iran.
Reply:NO!!

Iran will bring war on them selves as Saddam did and the Taliban did.
Reply:The forces are spread too thinly as it is in Iraq. There is not enough time left in his administration to withdraw from Iraq and attack Iran.

Even if there was two other issues stand in the way.

1.The withdrawl from Iraq will be seen as Bush backing down. Since he is very ego driven it is difficult to see him agreeing to that and it would be very embarrassing and prevent any public support for another war.

2. The Democrat congress just will not back him again.
Reply:Cheney was involved in PNAC and they have this insane idea that they can install democracy throughout the middleast at gunpoint.

The Iranians have a lot of money and a lot of weapons. I always laugh like hell when people say they can't sink an aircraft carrier. They start bombing Iran and all hell will break loose.

But if Cheney has his way we will.
Reply:We will never know unless it really happens.

I don't believe in what papers say.
Reply:One cannot have a war unless one gets it voted on in Congress. So unless Congress backs it, there will be no war. Savvy?
Reply:Probably before he makes love on iran I can guess.
Reply:"My fellow american's and I've just declared war on Iran, and have sent 50 planes to bomb schools, weddings, and farms. I'm now resigning, and I'd just like to say, suck on this democrats let me knoww how it works out, hahahahahahahahahahaha."
Reply:Israel will get owned, so will US Forces in Iraq, a whole region of terrorism will erupt. Its a very strange idea because Iraq and Iran have become allies. Also it will completely disrupt the oil industry
Reply:Nope, he'd rather leave, let the dems pull out, and then

short-sell Halliburton!
Reply:He will do his best. Then, he will leave office and reap the benefits. All of that money from Halliburton and Cheney will be so good in Georgie's pocket. Anyway, he only does what Cheney tells him to do.
Reply:Wheee! I wouldn't doubt it
