Isn't Bush hiding behind presidential secrecy, to avoid going to jail if his admin's acts are made public ?

At the heart if it, This man is a deserter from the Texas National Guard. His father's influence got him his honorable discharge. And I will never believe he was actually elected in 2000. Its an odd thing when the USSC steps in, halts an election and appoints some one president on a 5 Republian - 4 Democrat split. But back to the secrecy, why did Bush make Reagan's papers as well as his father's presidential papers classified and off limits to researchers and historians ? What are they covering up?

Isn't Bush hiding behind presidential secrecy, to avoid going to jail if his admin's acts are made public ?
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et. al., are guilty of so many criminal acts it's hard for most people to believe he's guilty of anything. Or else the American people have become so jaded and cynical that they'll accept anything from their "leaders." Nixon was impeached, and should have been, for so very little compared to the Bush regime. What totally amazes me is that there were many politicians willing to vote for Nixon's impeachment but I don't even hear the Bush-hating wing of the Democrats on the hill even suggesting the possibility. The Bush machine had done a masterful job of pulling the proverbial wool over the eyes of the American people, our media and those in Washington. Perhaps it's as simple as our being so scared of terrorism that we'll accept anything or anyone that can make us believe that we're being protected.

You and your friend walk into a store. You distract the clerk while your friend shoplifts half of the store's contents. The clerk is never the wiser until you're long gone. That's exactly what's happened to the US.

This is not a partisan issue. That Bush is a Republican is irrelevant and coincidental. Whether or not he's a thief and a con artist is the only issue.
Reply:planksheer,

You would have to show me evidence where making documents classified has to do with party lines. We all know it's not just Republican presidents that have done this in the past.

Also, I found it interesting that you only disagree with the 2000 election but not the 2004 election where Bush won both the electoral and popular vote (which by the way was the first time that's happened since 1988).

Yes, and your Supreme Court theory is flawed as well. Bet you can't name 5 Republicans that served on the Supreme Court in 2000 or 2001. That's because until Bush appointed the last two positions, there were only 3 die-hard conservatives (2 voted evenly across party lines).

Conspiracy will drive you mad, son. You'll live a healthier, longer life only accepting what you know to be fact...

________

Update:

--- "Remember Nixon?"

Yeah, do you remember Kennedy? Heck, it's all over the news now about documents just starting to become unclassified about attempts on Fidel's life working with the Mafia covered up by Kennedy's administration. The point here isn't to trade jabs, but to realize that the points you've brought up are not confined to one party.

And about the 2004 election debacle...

You can point all the fingers you want about the tactics used. I can tell you without a doubt in mind that similar political schemes have been used by both parties for over a century. To blame one of the parties now is like trying to tell the Palestinians that Israel belonged to the Jews first...
Reply:You really need to grow up. The USSC didn't halt any election. Have you read the decision, or are you just basing your knowledge on what you see on TV/internet?
Reply:The question here is not if Bush is incompetent (we all know the answer).

The question is why in the "land of the free and the home of the brave" nobody did anything about it.It looks like the more stupid things he does the more Americans like him.

I saw an interview with him and the question of the war in Iraq came up and all he said was : "We have to win, we have to win... or the bad guys win.."
Reply:I guess Bush is spending more money on prisons than schools because he isn't going to school when his term ends.
Reply:If I thought someone was going to put me in jail, I might try to hide to. I don't know to much about all this president stuff. I do try to know who is the President and latley I have been keeping up on some politics. I guess the older I get the more interesting it becomes. I must becomming like my parents. God help me.LOL Kidding. Anyway, I do feel that many National Gaurd men are being used to fight the war in Iraq. Not to many boys to men want to join when a war is going on. Why not start a draft? Yeah good Question huh? I rest my case. Is it that they let those men go and not able to start a draft due to rich boys kids may have to go. Hey it's just a thought. OK have a good day and God Bless You! Oh they can cover up anything they want because they have money and that's how it goes. But sooner or later everyone that does wrong get's uncovered. Thank You and God Bless you!
Reply:first off the presidency should have never went into the hands of the Supreme Court, that is an imbalance of power right there. There was an election process put in by the constitution, that was overridden by Mr. Gore. He went to the then liberal court expecting to win their decision. Second the President does have the authority to relieve from duty federal judges. Clinton relieved over 80 during his presidency, and you didn't hear the Republicans throwing a fit, and calling for congressional judiciary review. Bush fires 5, and all hell breaks lose on Capital Hill by the Democrats. As far as the papers from past Presidencies Nixon's has just recently been declassified and made public. Fords, Carters, Reagan's Bush Sr., Clinton are still classified. So why are so angry over only the presidents you apparently don't like. Just because we don't like a president doesn't mean we throw out everything constitutional in order to lynch them in the streets of Washington.
Reply:It's a conspiracy all right, and only you figured it out. Good job son...now turn off your Wii and go to bed like good little left wing conspirator.
Reply:yeah you need to not be paranoid the presidents just doing his job theres no conspiracy
