Is it just a goddamn piece of paper?

Isn't the constitution part of what makes America, well America. So why would Bush refer to it as "just a goddamn piece of paper"? Maybe I'm crazy but without the constitution, I don't think any of us would be living the way we are now. Any thoughts on this?

Is it just a goddamn piece of paper?
GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the [Patriot] act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

"I don't give a goddamn," Bush retorted. "I'm the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way."

"Mr. President," one aide in the meeting said. "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution."

"Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. "It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"

And here, I though he SWORE to uphold the Constitution. I must have heard that from a liberal.
Reply:A piece of paper to be disregarded willy nilly.
Reply:I never heard him say anything like that but he does tend to stick his foot in his mouth quite a bit these days.
Reply:More liberal propaganda. Is it a wonder why they don't have any credible sources and/or audio for this quote?

LMAO. Desperation on the part of the degenerate leftists.
Reply:I am with these others - when did this happen? Or is it just more liberal bs?

By the way, in any case, if you want to be anti-Bush and pro-constitution (which he is by the way - I think he is just sick of you whiners) - always remember that it was written by RICH, WHITE, CHRISTIAN MEN - all things that you all rail against too. You can't call constitution when you don't really agree with where it came from.
Reply:When did he say that? And did he specifically say that exactly? If so he needs to go!
Reply:I'm confused. . . . *starts crying*
Reply:your too young to be using adult words.

its all made up kaka from a kaka web site that presents fiction as fact.
Reply:Technically I think the Constitution was originally written on parchment. And after all these years it's seemed to become a liturgy of documentation. At this point I'm sure we have it scanned in on computers. I think the issue is really a matter of considering the source. As the Constitution has become the letter by which our laws are written, it was also a treasonous action taken by the forefathers of this nation. So in essence it is more important as a symbol than it could ever be as a physical object.
Reply:Capiton Hill Blue is the source of that quote.

Tell me: Why I should trust anything that they publish? Why can't I find any main-stream media with that quote, even non-friendly ones?
Reply:Bush has stepped on, spat on, and then sh!t on the Constitution since he got into office. Of course he has no respect for the law of the land. Her's a traitor to the USA.
Reply:This joke sums up my thoughts entirely!!!! Regardless whether he made that statement or not!!

Plastic Surgery Miracles

Three Texas plastic surgeons were playing golf together and discussing surgeries they had performed.

One of them said, "I'm the best plastic surgeon in Texas. A concert pianist lost 7 fingers in an accident, I reattached them, and 8 months later he performed a private concert for the Queen of England."

One of the others said. "That's nothing. A young man lost both arms and legs in an accident, I reattached them, and 2 years later he won a gold medal in 5 field events in the Olympics."

The third surgeon said, "You guys are amateurs. Several years ago a cowboy who was high on cocaine and alcohol rode a horse head-on into a train traveling 80 miles an hour. All I had left to work with was the horse's *** and a cowboy hat.

Now he's President of the United States."
Reply:Because it is open to amending, which means manipulation, which means it is not just a goddamn piece of paper but a worthless piece of excuses to fall back on.

What makes the US the US is the people and the ideals we hold of a free society. There are some who don't believe in a free society on all side of the political arena and they make more laws to govern us using the constitution as their backing. And then there are those who attempt to take out parts of the bill of rights.

Freedom is an idea, not a written document.
Reply:ha-ha, check your facts *****.

that "article" was all BS. it was based on three "sources". two of them claimed it "second hand" knowledge, aka hearsay. and the third Denys involvement in the report.

you liberals need to stop focusing on how you can tear down bush and worry about the issues going on today.
Reply:Why are you mad now. This was his same position long before he was elected to the Nations highest office.

The guy is a blow (coke) monkey who has been in some kind of trouble all through the course of his life. He is a 'C ' graduate from Yale with a major in skull and bones and a sworn allegiance to Hitler and Fascism.

By the time he leaves office the constitution will have been his toilet paper. Cheeky little monkey-bum.
Reply:One site of many that reports him saying this is
Reply:Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

Fools~
Reply:keep on rockin in the free world
Reply:It's obvious that Bush doesn't take his oath to uphold the constitution seriously.
Reply:IMPEACH!!! IMPEACH!!!
Reply:Just where in hell do you get your information. I don't believe the President ever said such a thing and have never heard of it either. Before you state something like that you better have proof possitive to back it up.
Reply:Care to provide a reference?

By the way, it's usually Democrats that talk about the constitution meaning anything high and mighty liberal judges say it means. Although I wouldn't expect even a liberal to say its "just a goddamn piece of paper", that's the way they consistently treat it.
Reply:did he actually say that? if so that would be grounds for impeachment.
Reply:say again? when in the hell did this happen. please provide a link.
Reply:What are you referencing when you say that Bush called the Constitution a "goddam piece of paper?"

Are you certain you have all your facts? This would've made headlines the world over, and I don't recall hearing about this.
Reply:Wow....when did he say that?? Link to the article please!
Reply:......"Maybe I'm crazy but without the constitution, I don't think any of us would be living the way we are now. ....."

I'm not sure that's such a bad thing
Reply:i will sum it all up for everyone......

BUSCH IS A *SSH*LE

everyone have a good day
Reply:Bush is a dope, and your right.

Reply:It's an outdated document, 200 years behind the times.

It doesn't allow for the kind of strong leadership out country needs during a time of crisis, and so it should be used as a guideline only where there aren't more important reasons to do what is necessary.
