Has Bush honored his two oaths to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States?

GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

"I don't give a goddamn," Bush retorted. "I'm the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way."

"Mr. President," one aide in the meeting said. "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution."

"Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. "It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"

I've talked to three people present for the meeting that day and they all confirm that the President of the United States called the Constitution "a goddamned piece of paper."

Has Bush honored his two oaths to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States?
After reading the Patriot Act, Military Commissions Act, and the Real ID Act, all the illegal wiretapping, and arresting thousands of people without charges judging off of all of this I would say no. He has failed to protect and defend the Constitution. You don't protect and defend the Constitution by trampling all over it.
Reply:No! That man disgusts me...he cares nothing about what this country was founded upon and it makes me sick!
Reply:No he hasn't.

And I didn't need your "back story" to tell me that - I can see it with my own eyes, and read it everywhere else.
Reply:Same old left wing spin.
Reply:Yes, he has.
Reply:By far the worst offender of the rule of law I have seen in the white house in my life-time and that includes Nixon. Our President had listened way too much to that criminal of a VP we have and his mentor Rumsfeld. In six years they have managed to do more damage to this country than any other I have seen and that includes both parties. I'm so curious as to what it is they are hoping to accomplish with their antics? People on here throw the term fascism around very loosely, these people in this administration are the closest to fascist we have had in this country for many, many years. Their whole objective seems to be to give the executive branch of government power that can't be questioned. It is truly amazing that we could, under their handy-work, disappear off the face of the earth if they so chose to make it happen, all they have to do is label you a supporter of terrorism. Just what is it that republicans think they are supporting when Americans can disappear for voicing a dissenting opinion of our government? If that isn't fascism, I don't know what is.
Reply:Nope.
Reply:Are you surprised? Are any of us really surprised anymore about the crap this incompetant boob does these days?

Thanks Republicans!! Thank you for 8 years of hell with 50 years (if not more) of consequences!
Reply:Yes he has!!

He has protected this country like no other President would have.

President George Walker Bush, America's HERO!!!
Reply:How can he honor that which he has never read!
Reply:no and we all know it.

this is a joke to him - he is like a juvenile delinquent drunk on power - i am not sure what that makes us.
Reply:Bush knew that the Constitution was written on paper? I was sure he believed it was written on a bathroom wall in the White House.
