How much more of BUSH's LIES, MUST WE TAKE???

President George Bush addresses the nation from the Oval Office, March 19, 2003, to announce the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

"The people of the United States and our friends and allies will not live at the mercy of an outlaw regime that threatens the peace with weapons of mass murder."

The Senate committee found that many of the administration's pre-war statements about Iraqi WMD were not supported by the underlying intelligence.

A white paper titled "Iraq's Continuing Programs for Weapons of Mass Destruction" was released by CIA Director George Tenet on October 4, 2002, three days after the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Iraqi WMD was released

President George Bush, surrounded by leaders of the House and Senate, announces the Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq, October 2, 2002. Lawmakers debated and passed the resolution during the following two weeks, basing their votes in part on the information in the classified--

How much more of BUSH's LIES, MUST WE TAKE???
Blah, blah, blah. That's original. You must be a liberal......
Reply:Let's take a closer look at some unbiased facts:

Weapons inspection teams were first set up in Iraq in 1991. Saddam had stockpiled chemical weapons leading up to the Gulf War - and had used them to kill an estimated 20,000 people, including 5000 Iraqi Kurds. He used mustard gas and tabun, a nerve agent.

The inspections went poorly from this point on - with Saddam ousting the inspectors on numerous occations and, when they were in Iraq, not allowing them to inspect several buildings and numerous sites. Finally, in 1999, Saddam once again rejected a UN resolution (1284) and kicked the inspectors out. Prior to their departure, the inspection team had destroyed 48 long range missiles, 14 conventional warheads, 30 chemical warheads, 40,000 chemical munitions and 690 Tons of chemical agents. They also discovered a nuclear program that was far more advanced than they had previously thought.

With reliable inspections no longer on the ground and Scott Ritter, the chief weapons inspector in Iraq for 7 years, admitting in a press release that even though the inspectors had located and destroyed laboratories, production equipment and the chemical agents that were discovered, he could not conclusively verify the destruction of all of Saddam's arsenals - including VX nerve agent.

Spin ahead now to 2002 - 3 years later - given this history, the events of 9/11 and the fact that the Iraqi troops themselves believed that Iraq had WMDs - what do you think the prudent action should have been if you were given the responsibility of defending America's security?

Do you rely on the evidence which supports the contention that Saddam has WMDs, or do you take the chance - despite his dismal compliance and history of using WMDs - and accept the evidence that he actually complied with the UN resolutions?

Hindsight, as you well know, is always 20/20. Unfortunately, it is never available at the time when the tough desisions have to be made.
Reply:Personally, I don't take any of them. I completely ignore the buffoon.
Reply:really? US intelligence didnt support claims against Saddam?

Maybe you should actually READ the Iraq Study Groups report... bimbo.

I'd like to know where it says Saddam didnt possess WMD...

I have a question for you, if US intelligence doesnt support Operation Iraqi Freedom.. why is it supporting a troop surge in Iraq?

Here, if you claim that US intelligence doesnt support the President's declaration of Operation Iraqi Freedom..
