Why can Bush and Cheney continue to tell everyone they're above the law?

Bush himself and now Cheney as well have continuously made statements and shown through their actions that they believe to be above the law? What is this government coming to and I think more importantly what is wrong with the American people that no one seems to care that these people are using the Constitution as toilet paper?

Why can Bush and Cheney continue to tell everyone they're above the law?
Too many sheep that listen to their rhetoric blindlessly support the Bush Administration.

At some point, people have to put away their pride, admit that it was a mistake to vote for Bush, and support Congess' attempts at overriding the Presidential vetos.
Reply:Excuse me!! I'd really like to see examples and real verifiyable proof of when, where, and how either the president or the vice-president have made statements or acted in a manner in a way stating they were above the law. Second, if this were true, why were indictments not handed down for some offense. As far as the Constitution is concered, Liberals have a ton of gall coming out with statements accusing the president and/or conservatives of using the Constitution as toilet paper. Its the left wing liberal Democrats who have repeatedly, and continue to, violate the rights of the people in the name of said rights. It is them who constantly attempt to impart their personal interpretation of the Constitution so it fits their sick adgenda. They continuously try to push the idea that its a living document to be interpreted as time goes by and their sick ideas change. What a joke. It is what it is, and if the left wing Liberals stopped trashing it and everything it stands for, this country would be able to get back on track.
