Bush supporters: would your opinion change if the following were true?

If it was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, with absolutely NO room for argument, that Bush DID actually say, "Stop throwing the Constitution at me! It's just a [expletive deleted] piece of paper!" would your opinion of him change?





I know that it's in dispute - there is no need to point that out. I'm aware. It's a "he said, he said" situation. But if there was actual EVIDENCE that he had said that, would your opinion of him change? And if so, how?

Absolutely. I could not support somebody who had so little respect for the constitution, but I think it is highly unlikely that he said that.
Reply:Not really... watch Letterman's "Famous Moments in Presidential Speeches" sometime... he says stupid stuff all the time... he may not be our brightest president, but common, he can't be THAT stupid...





You can't judge a person based solely on one sentence taken completely out of context, people say stupid stuff in the heat of the moment...

Reply:People, especially politicians, say all sorts of things. I wouldn't base my opinion on what he's said so much as what has happened durring his term in office and what he's done in response - and I think that speaks for itself....

BTW - did any Bill Clinton supporters change their tune when he violated his office? Hmmm...

Reply:No, they would never admit to anything that Bush has done that is not patriotic, even if it's documented. Cons/Repubes have a talent for ignoring facts and acting accordingly.
