Controversy
Bush's presidency has been characterized by a vigorous defense of "executive privilege", evidenced in such acts as signing Executive Order 13233, which suspends the release of presidential papers, tight control of Congressional inquiries into White House officers such as in the 9/11 Commission's interviews with Condoleezza Rice, Bush and Richard B. Cheney, and the generally high level of coordination between the White House, Congressional Republicans and Senate Republicans in both of Bush's terms. Many commentators have claimed that deference to executive privilege was one of the principal considerations in Bush's administration, when he proposed his three nominations for the Supreme Court, and appointed John R. Bolton to the United Nations.[5][6]
Bush's Controversy ?
For the individual asking what the question is:
"Now the question: Why do the 25% that still support Bush, still support him and his war in Iraq ?"
Because most people who decide that they approve of somebody CAN NOT tolerate seeing a negative truth and having to re-examine their thoughts. The vast majority of our population has NOT served a day in service, so they do not have an appreciation for what the Constitution gives, nor are they concerned with what is quickly being trampled on.
'lil bush rode in on money and his fathers coat tails...
How else would he have been able to steal the Florida vote from otherwise accountable officials?
Reply:they only watch fox news, and have a closed mind to real facts .there will always be supporters of any President, they voted for him and do not wish to admit there mistake.
Reply:I'm way too tired to address all your statements, so I'll stick to one for now. In regards the enemy combatants, and their due process. The Geneva convention does not recognize Al Queda or any other terrorist organization seeing that they do not have uniforms or a country. Why are you sticking up for the rights of terrorists?? We put them up at 4-star Gitmo, and they cut off the heads of their prisoners...and you want to give them the same rights as an American??? Hopefully when the Dems shut down all the counter terror measures Bush has implemented, and the ones that you criticize...the next terror attack takes the life of someone you care about, as 9/11 did for me.

Reply:Thanks for the question.
There seems to be a certain percentage of humans who can't see beyond their own fear, and need to feel that there is some authority figure protecting us. Their God is a scary, irrational dude who threatens to burn them in eternal hellfire if they don't get their minds right.
So they are ripe for manipulation by a tough sounding, plain talking, 'regular guy' who fuels their fear with his irrational rhetoric and then takes action that those people can pretend is making them safer.
Sort of like sheep.
Reply:maybe you would rather have michael jackson running the country?
Reply:It's simple. They think 9/11 justifies all the things that you've stated. It's not only a denial of the lack of evidence that there is this huge organization of boogey men who want to "kill us all and destroy our way of life", but all the subsequent things that have happened since - E.G. - the WMD's in Iraq, the lack of any evidence Saddam was involved with al qaeda or any other terrorist org. It's mass hysteria and our (and others) civil rights have suffered as a result.
Reply:history will tell that he bacame the worst president ever, taking over nixon spot.
