"It's just a god dam piece of paper" Shouldn't that scare you ?

Bush said in reference to the US constitution "it's just a god dam piece of paper". Now the camp in Cuba the move to protect CIA and other military personal guilty of crimes like torture or abuse so as to keep them out of the media - That should be a wake up call should it not?


Is George not in a fight with the courts over breaching and or over stepping his powers? Isn't it then safe to say he is guilty of preverting democracy ?





How can you say or trust he will not take your rights away? He apparently has no respect for the constitution - how far can the rest of the law be ?

The sad part is...we only get to vote for who they choose to put on the ballet, so really, we're choosing from their choices.

The only fear is, which I can see where your question is leading to, is that if politicians can change one thing, then another, and then disregard the constitution (funny they can't do that when it comes to gay marriage), then yes, we may have to fear liglislation and prsidential acts going down a very tense path.





Call me biased (yes there are biased moderates), but I do think we need a bit more balance in Washington. Most of the congressmen are way too far fromthe center of the spectrum, and that is especially not good when one party is dominating the other, especiall when it's going on in both of ther other two branches. I mean, checks and balances are supposed to be balanced.

Reply:Yes, Bush scares me, but what can we do? Impeachment is not an option, because the congress isn't going to listen to the people; most of them are republican! It seems like all 3 branches of the government are republican. If we wanted to do anything, our only hope is to revolt.
