Analyzing Bush's 9/11 speech?

I'm writing a paper for my college public speaking class in which I have to analyze the quality of bush's 9/11 speech. I can talk about anything, including rhetorical situation (background history), delivery, overall speech design, audience analysis, use of transitions, intro and conclusion...

I've got the speech analyzed in terms of language and all that...

Is there something significant that I should mention about the rhetorical setting...besides the history of 9/11? I'm going to mention that it was a big statement that he made it from the white house...seeing as everyone thought it was not safe...but bush demanded to make it from there.

Serious answers only. I don't want to hear crappy conspiracy theories or junk like that...

Analyzing Bush's 9/11 speech?
Give a little background on 9/11, but not a whole books worth. Take into consideration, the stress he was in at the point he made the speach also. Look for hints of panic and ect.

Reply:A motive, and the tracing the financiers of the attack would be high on a detectives list, but absent from Bush's.
Reply:If you're talking about the speech he made from the rubble of the WTC with the bullhorn, I thought it was what America wanted from Bush. Short, direct, to the point...no BS.

One of my criticisms of Bush in general was that he delivers a nice speech, but does not always think well on his feet. But when he came back with "I can hear you....and pretty soon the people responsible for this are going to hear you, too." was a great spur of the moment line. One of the high marks of his Presidency.
Reply:Interesting. So, if Bush actually knew beforehand the attack was going to take place you wouldn't want to hear about it because that would be a "crappy conspiracy theory" and not "serious"? And you're in college? Good luck, you might be president one day.
Reply:he's a reptile
Reply:He told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
