Did president Bush really call the Constitution a G*ddamn piece of paper?

And if you say yes, can you back it up with sources?

Did president Bush really call the Constitution a G*ddamn piece of paper?
He's botched everything else historical, so why should this be any different.

The man has no respect for anything except the almighty dollar, oil and power.
Reply:No! President George W. Bush has a lot of sense in him.

He knows not to say such things.

He believes that The Constitution is important.
Reply:No, he did not say it.

The story was first published on a Washinton D.C. website that deals with gossip, among other things. (National Enquirer also deals with gossip). Later, the story was pulled by the publisher. The link was down and then it was brought back. http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/pu...
Reply:No he did not. There are no sources to back up that claim.
Reply:According to several people who attended a meeting at the White House, yes.

It's anecdotal, since the comment was made in a semi-private meeting --- but Bush's behavior and comments since certainly seem to indicate that is his belief.
Reply:no but if you remember the dems said something similar. the said the constitution shouldnt be taken literaly its a living breathing document subject to interpretation. our countries founders knew exactly what they wer envisioning for our country and tried to spell it out as clearly as possible to prevent any misunderstanding
Reply:he probably does cuz hes a idiot he is the dumbest person in the whole world where are the so called weapons of mass destruction
Reply:He has said a lot of stupid things so he probably did that right after the infamous nose picking fiasco that was caught on tape. There are a lot of Bush bashing sites on the web where you can read his stupid Bushisms and you will wonder how he ever learned to brush his teeth, let alone rule a country.......just google Bushisms and you'll see it is hillarious.
Reply:no, it is an urban legend. ( blogs are not ligitimate news sources as many pretend them to be.) if he had said this, it would have made front page news in every paper in the nation. use a little common sense.

%26lt;edit%26gt; coragryph: i use to think you credible but your post of your opinion of what you think someone might or could say leaves me in doubt now. you stated that you are a minister and a lawyer, i guess i would expect both of wanting to let truth guide them.
Reply:It was reported that he said that. Whether he did or didn't, I'm not sure.
Reply:No. I have asked for a *credible* source for this, and apparently, it was all started by one guy with incredibly poor journalistic standards. (Yeah, I know! I was shocked, too!)

According to a very liberal website:

The source of this story is unable to verify the statement claiming "...I heard from two White House sources who claim they heard from others present in the meeting...". This isn't acceptable by any journalistic standards.

~*~*~*~

But a lot of the libs on here will act like prisonplanet, moron.org, etc are "credible" sources. The only mention in the MSM I was able to find was a Keith Olbermann clip where Olbermann and some other Dem are talking about it. I have yet to see PROOF that this happened, but it is widely accepted as fact.
Reply:As much as I do not like his presidency, No he did not.
Reply:No, he never said it.

The Dems would be all over it.
Reply:No, but being the extremist Republican he is he probably thinks it.
Reply:no
Reply:Even if he didn't say it, he's sure acting the part.
Reply:I have not personally heard this, but it would be typical for the tyrant to again trample on our Constitution. Bush has been a liar and deciever from the beginning, like the Devil. He cares nothing about our "rights".
Reply:Absolutely not, you have to realize some people will say or publish whatever they think will sell.
Reply:Probably did think it though, lol

Last month, Republican Congressional leaders filed into the Oval Office to meet with President George W. Bush and talk about renewing the controversial USA Patriot Act.

Several provisions of the act, passed in the shell shocked period immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, caused enough anger that liberal groups like the American Civil Liberties Union had joined forces with prominent conservatives like Phyllis Schlafly and Bob Barr to oppose renewal.

GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”

“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”

“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”

I’ve talked to three people present for the meeting that day and they all confirm that the President of the United States called the Constitution “a goddamned piece of paper.”
Reply:idk but thats probably his opinion of it
Reply:Yes he said it, as reported by several republican senators who witnessed the traitorous outburst.
