Help with compare/contrast paper bush vs lincoln?

i need help for english this week. im doing an essay comparing bush jr to honest abe. what can i write about? and do you know anything about the civil wars that they took part in?

During the Civil War, Lincoln denied protesting citizens Constitutional rights like habeas corpus in order to maintain law and order. Bush helped to get the Patriot Act passed which also denied Constitutional rights in order to keep Americans safer from terrorists.





Lincoln made disastrous military decisions by appointing generals who were incompetent. Bush has made disastrous military decisions by expanding the war on terror into Iraq without finishing the war in Afghanistan first.





In speaking terms, Lincoln was articulate and able to appeal to the masses with his backwoods charm and vernacular. Early in Bush's presidency (before 9/11) his Southern charm won over many Americans. He was NEVER articulate though.





Lincoln was also haunted by the decisions he was forced to make in the Civil War. He had many regrets and aged tremendously during his 4 years. Bush doesn't seem to have regrets. He is so sure his decisions are correct that he is willing to stand behind them even when others have shown they are in error.





Lincoln also had very thick skin and the ability to handle criticism. When Edwin Stanton called him a "fool" in the papers, Lincoln replied that Stanton was usually right about most things. Bush cannot handle criticism and immediately becomes hostile and defensive.

Reply:Honest Abe tried to figure out problems on his own and then consult with his advisors. Bush Jr. hasn't got a clue even when he does talk to his advisors. And then he only does what his brothers Marvin and Jeb tell him to do and that is after they both consult with Bush Sr. G.W. Bush is an idiot and everyone can tell that from the way he has hardly aged. Every President ages either gracefully or badly do to the pressures of the Presidency. GW hasn't aged that much because he has no pressures. If he could figure anything out for himself he would cede the Presidency to someone smarter, like Lassie or Mickey Mouse.
Reply:The civil war ? North and South. Abe was pres during America's civil war. ..That war was fought by factions in the USA the north (free the slaves, keep America united) , the south (for slavery and the dessolution of the united states).......


GW pres now...Started the war (war in Iraq) is fought between religious factions (shiites , sunnis both moslem)





Bush started the fire in Iraq....Abe helped to put the fire out here......There is no comparison other than that....
Reply:u could talk about abraham lincln's struggle to abolish slavaery......that's where civil war comes to the picture......from his early years he wanted america to be a great nation as his founders had dreamed of..........besides the most important thing is that he hated war but resorted to civil war as he was forced to.....unlike bush who is continuously destroying countries........John Wilkes Booth assasinated lincoln.....well i don't know who's gonna assasinate bush.......well jus check out the newspapers for info regardin bush
